INSTRUCTIONAL DIVISION

For the 2023-2024 school year, we will be piloting 8 Middle School only CDEs. Point values will be determined at 2023 TAAE Regional Meetings. Contest rules for these contests will be posted on the westtnffa.ffanow.org site under the individual contest area tabs.
Contests are: Land Evaluation, Livestock Evaluation, Horse Judging, FFA Ceremonies, Creed, Skills, Poultry and Forestry.

1. AG ISSUES AND AG COMMUNICATIONS CDE committee chairman will be Jordan Sawyers and Ann Johnson.
2. Josh Abel and Jeffrey Sartain shall serve as chairmen of the SOIL JUDGING CDE.
3. Richie Ruehl, Noah Rogers, and Jon Holden shall serve as chairmen of the FORESTRY CDE. The Forestry CDE location will be on a rotational pattern to include the Weakley County, Fort Pillow, Parsons, and Natchez Trace areas.
4. Bill Newsom and Bryan Cole shall serve as chairman of the WEST TENNESSEE PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE CDE. The Parliamentary Procedure and Ceremony teams will consist of different members.
5. Kelsey Swirka and Brittany Leitherland shall serve as chairman of the WEST TENNESSEE CCM CDE.
6. Ashley Moore and Haley Williams shall serve as Co-chairman of the WEST TENNESSEE CREED, PREPARED SPEAKING, EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEAKING and EMPLOYMENT SKILLS LDEs.
7. Jeremy Fair, Chance Young, and Dakota Brasher shall serve as Co-chairmen of LIVESTOCK JUDGING CDE.
8. Lyndsey Norman and Lynsey Butler shall serve as chairmen of the HORSE JUDGING CDE.
9. Ann Johnson and Jerry Johnson shall serve as Co-Chairmen of the AG SALES CDE.
10. For the WEST TENNESSEE SKILLS CDE, Michael Allen and John Joyner shall serve as permanent Co-chairman.
11. Elizabeth Flanagan, Mackenzie Moorehead, Jordan Sawyers, and Gene Robertson shall serve as chairmen of the FLORICULTURE CDE and NURSERY JUDGING CDEs and shall secure the help of JSCC officials in conducting these CDEs.

13. The MARKETING PLAN LDE will be chaired by Laura Moss and Caitlyn Garton.
14. NO JUDGING cards will be returned to school advisors. The results tabulated by the scoring committee shall be final after 24hrs of first posting. No results shall be changed on the cards after the cards have been submitted.
15. A chapter may select its best eight (8) CDEs to be counted in the INSTRUCTIONAL DIVISION.
16. No more than eight (8) may be counted. A chapter has the right to participate in all CDEs if eligible.
17. If a student is caught talking during a CDE, he/she will be given a zero for that particular portion of the event.
18. If a student is caught cheating during a CDE, he/she will be disqualified from the event. Any person associated with helping during the contest has the ability to bring to the contest chairmen any student accused of cheating. The chairs will make the final determination
19. If a student is caught with a cell phone during a CDE, he/she will be disqualified from the event. Any person associated with helping during the contest has the ability to bring the contest chairmen any student accused of cheating. The contest chairs and Regional Coordinator will make the final determination.
20. All rules to be used for the current competition year will be posted on the westtnffa.ffanow.org website by August 15th.
